I called 3 places on Saturday morning with a bathtub faucet that would not shut off. Tim from My Guy Plumbing was the only call back I received within 5 minutes of my message. He was upfront and transparent with the pricing and also explained everything in a polite positive manner. He explained that emergency service would be costly and may not be able to accommodate me on a Saturday due to his staff being on site at other locations. I booked the first non emergency appointment on Monday and was so very satisfied with the work that both Devin and Matt did. The company is very professional and I was fairly charged with the work involved. Devin took his time explaining what work was required went over all of the company licenses and also showed me pictures of the products needed for the job I wanted done. Pipe repair, purge 2 zones Arrived to home for no hot water. Upon inspection found a leak on a heat line causing air to be admitted into system. MyGuy repaired leak and drain and purged zones. Tested for leaks there are none at this time and customer has hot water. While here noticed a leak on indirect we were he to do maintenance on about a month ago. Will pass on to boiler specialist.
Arrived on site customer stated that they are having intermittent hot water at their shower. Upon inspection opened cover to tankless and visually inspected for leaks did not find any. Next ran water at shower that was getting intermittent hot water while simultaneously check gpm flow at the tankless and it appears to be keeping up and not shutting down. Then ran another fixture and it is maintaining hot water. Found that the handle to the shower was stiff and usually indicates scale build up and that the cartridge is beginning to fail along with fluctuating temperatures. Gave options to get on the phone with ao smith tech support to verify that the tankless is not the issue but customer would like to just have the cartridge replaced. Replaced cartridge and tested all work and everything appears to be in working order and there is no fluctuations in temp at the shower. Collected payment
Arrived on site customer stated that that they have no heat. Upon inspection found that the boiler went out on a safety because the rollout switch had tripped due to soot build up in flue pipe and cast iron baffles. Recommend customer have chimney company come out inspect/clean the chimney and we can come in after replace roll out switch clean baffles and burn tubes and further test the boiler to see if there is any underlying issues. Sometimes boiler can fail like this due to the cast iron block freezing and cracking. Because of cold temp and this not being a full time home we winterized the water heater, boiler and home to prevent any freezing over the winter and customer can contact chimney company when they are ready. Put anti freeze in all the traps and left all valves open in the home. Collected payment.
Customer stated that toilet was no flushing properly. After inspecting we found that the fill valve was not function properly, myguy plumbing gave customer options to replace, or rebuild toilet. For today customer would just like to rebuild toilet. Myguy plumbing replaced fill valve and supply line. Please note that there is no warranty on any other parts in the toilet except the fill valve and supply line, after all work was completed. Myguy plumbing tested for leaks. No leaks were found everything is working as should.
Arrived on site customer stated that toilet would back up into shower. He tried sneaking in himself from the bathroom sink. P-trap was taken apart by the customer. He said he also snaked it from the washer line pulled out hair/roots. We explained that the only way to snake the line will be from the toilet. He said OK he does not care do the work. He needs the bathroom up and working we pull the toilet about 9 feet into the line hit hard blockage with spearhead. We then went out 10 feet to open line, we pulled out a big thing of roots. We ran camera and found out that there’s roots infested in the terra-cotta pipe. We then ran a root cutter to clear as much of the roots as possible for the time being of the repair toilet flange is also not screwed into the floor so it is loose. Customer stated that he will put grout around the toilet himself. He does not want us to caulk or put shims. We will give him a price on doing a liner, we found a cleanout outside. It is a two-way. Customer stated that toilet was still running after we rebuilt the toilet in August, after inspecting we found the fill valve was set to high. After we reset fill valve, we dye tested toilet to make sure that there were no leaks. At this time everything appears to be working as should on issues.
Arrived to home for no hot water upon inspection found that gas water heater was leaking on inside indicating that the tank has failed. Only option is replacement. Gave options to tenant but landlord phone is off. Could not move forward with anything today. Waived 59
We will be returning to further assess the issue.
Minor diagnostic, adding a hanger and reattach no hub Arrived to home for possible callback. Upon inspection found it was not on work we did. Improper install is the culprit. MyGuy added hangers and 2 no hubs to fix leak. Pipes were not lined up which caused original no hubs to pop out. Customer understands that this is a band aid fix and because we did not cut out and repipe what is there properly this issue may happen again. Customer just wanted it to not leak. She is aware that if it does leak again that the next step would be to cut and repipe that way pipes are lined up correctly.
